About our chef

Known for his culinary creativity, Chef Kevin Reading has roots in southern Delaware with acclaimed restaurants like Espuma and Nage. Now, with two brewpubs, Belly Up food truck and the waterfront Abbott's Grill in Laurel in operation, he's excited to bring "Big Time Taste. Small Town Nice" back down the shore.

"We are excited to embark on this new venture with the opening of another Abbott's Grill location," said Reading. "We look forward to creating memorable dining experiences and continuing to push the boundaries in the kitchen."

In addition to its Laurel location, Abbott's Grill operates in collaboration with Brick Works Brewing and Eats, which has two locations in Smyrna and Long Neck, and Belly Up Food Truck, which specializes in mobile catering. The new establishment is another collaboration between co-owner and executive chef Kevin Reading and business partner Ryan Maloney, co-owner of Brick Works and Belly Up. Together, Reading & Maloney have established a reputation for excellence in both food and craft beer, making Abbott's Grill's expansion a natural progression of their shared commitment to culinary innovation and hospitality.
